Wood Sign

I love Julia Child. She was a fascinating woman. I love some of the things she said. “If you’re afraid of butter, use cream” is one of my favorite, but I love “People who love to eat are always the best people.” We love food here. We love people who love food. Anyway, I tried to create this sign months ago using this tutorial. It didn’t work for me. It looked horrible. It was more of a “Pintester” project. (PS, you must read her blog. I’m in love.) It annoyed me every time I looked at it. So, while I was bored during a football game Sully was watching, I looked through my craft pins to find something to do.

I found this tutorial using stickers. I have tons of stickers left over from my scrapbooking days. It worked really well.

I happened to run out of stickers, which I made some Es using F and I. I also was able to peel “People” off and re-use it for the bottom. I started with a piece of balsa wood from Michaels. I painted it white and let it dry for months (it was the start to another project I quit….). Stuck some stickers down, painted over them, peeled them off, let it dry overnight and hung it in our kitchen!
